  • Private Session Behavior Modification

  • Any behavior a dog “practices” on a regular basis will eventually be considered Learned Behavior. Most negatively developed canine behaviors, left unchecked, will continue to increase in frequency and severity. Bad behavior doesn’t get better on its own. The owner almost always sees the problem getting worse while the dog simply gets better at it!

Generally speaking, dogs are not born with behavior problems. The negative behaviors are learned through the dog’s interaction with the environment and their life with humans. Because most owners are unintentionally and inadvertently reinforcing the very behaviors they would like to get rid of, we educate owners to help them understand how their dogs think as well as how they communicate. The vast majority of dogs will discontinue the negative behaviors once the owner stops reinforcing them.
      - The Reactive Owner - Unfortunately, most owners wait until the undesirable behaviors become unmanageable and, in some cases, even downright dangerous. For those Reactive owners (which compose the majority of our clientele), we will positively modify the dog’s negative behaviors while installing, new positive and productive behaviors. The eventual goal of our Sessions is to teach the owners how to obtain and maintain positive and productive behavior in their dog while strengthening the Leader-Follower Bond with effective management and communication.

      - The Proactive Owner - For those owners who decide to take a Proactive approach to their dog’s behavior – we applaud you! It is far more rewarding, and much more effective, to avoid the development of negative behaviors than it is to “fix” them once they are fully entrenched in the dogs repertoire of behaviors. We strongly urge owners to take this proactive approach to working with their dogs by establishing the highly effective Leader-Follower Bond as early in the relationship as possible. Whether it’s a brand new puppy or a shelter-rescued adult – establishing the effective parameters of Leadership in the initial stages of the relationship can be simple and extremely rewarding.
Utilizing the latest Positive Reinforcement based and scientifically sound Behavior Modification protocols, we can provide owners with solutions to even the toughest behavior problems with even the most stubborn dogs.

Our Private Session In-Home Behavior Modification Programs have been highly successful for Clients from New York City to upstate Maine and beyond. Our acclaimed Behavior Consultant, Brian Manning, CPDT-KA will come to your home, at your schedule, to train your dog while providing you with permanent solutions to your dog’s behavioral issues.

We offer several levels of Programs and payment schedules. From a simple one hour visit to a completely comprehensive 4+ Session Program – we will custom tailor a Program designed to fit the specific needs of you and your dog - as well as your schedule.

Program rates are based on your geographical location. Call 401-996-4854 for more details.

  • In-Patient Behavioral Rehabilitation and Therapy

  • There are some dog behaviors that just cannot be “fixed” by humans alone. Our In-Patient Behavioral Rehabilitation and Therapy Programs are generally reserved for the more severe behavioral issues such as; dog or human aggression, separation anxiety, fears & phobias, etc.

Unlike your typical “Board & Train”, which is commonly offered by Obedience Trainers (remember – Obedience Training does not “fix” behavior – especially these types of behaviors), dogs spend a minimum of 45 days at our location living in a home environment (this is very crucial when it comes to long-term success) with our pack of balanced dogs. This allows us to rehabilitate even the most severe behaviors that have become unmanageable or even dangerous (to humans or the dog). This very intensive Rehabilitation & Training Program is often times the only solution to some very serious behavioral issues. Nobody, I mean NOBODY can teach a dog about balanced behavior better than a calm, confident and balanced pack of dogs.

Included with every In-Patient Program are multiple In-Home “human-training” sessions as well. As stated above, many Obedience Trainers offer what is referred to as “Board & Train” generally lasting 2-3 weeks. However, at the end of the dog’s stay, the client may go through a one hour training session at the kennel where the dog was being trained. There are no trips made to the home where the dog lives and has been practicing the bad behavior. No follow up visits, and generally
speaking, no long-term success. Any novice trainer can make the dog look well-behaved right after training. Our goal is permanent, long-term positive behavioral change.

Where they commonly fail and we regularly succeed is that we spend numerous hours (4 In-Home Session totaling about 10-12 hours) training the owners. It does no good to positively modify the dog’s behavior without “fixing” the owners as well. During our In-Patient Program we will spend up to 10-12 hours (or more) “training” the owners how to establish the vital Leader-Follower Bond in order to maintain the positive changes we make here. This “human-training” is a crucial part in preventing regression back to the negative behaviors once the dog returns home.

In-Patient Program Rates are based on the severity of the behavioral issue as well as your geographical location. As far as we know, we are the only location in New England able to successfully utilize the “pack” dynamic in the rehabilitation process.

In order to provide your dog with as much focused rehabilitation and training as possible, space is extremely limited, so call 401-996-4854 now for a consultation.

During our In-Patient Program we utilize Treadmill Training as one of the ways to increase a dog’s confidence and help strengthen the Leader Follower Bond established by the Trainer.

  • Family-Style Boarding & DayCare

  • Nothing can be more stressful than selecting a kennel or someone you trust to look after your pet while you're away. Born from continuous requests from our Clients – several years ago we began offering what we call Family Style Boarding & Daycare to our past clientele as well as new, perspective clients. We offer this service on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.

Family-Style Boarding is based around a semi cage-free environment where your dog will be exercised, stimulated and treated like the "family pet". For dogs lacking positive social skills – a stay here with the pack can be just what’s needed to help that dog become much more pro-social and allow them to be around unknown dogs with some sense of safety and security. For highly active dogs – time spent with the pack, exercising and being stimulated can be just what those dogs need to find some sense of fulfillment while draining that excessive energy. Dogs are only crated while sleeping overnight and during daily nap-time.

Continuing "Basic Manners" education ensures that your dog does not lose any of his/her positive behavior while you're away. Maybe your dog doesn’t “get along” with other dogs. That’s simply because he or she was never taught how to properly socialize. Our pack is extremely adept at helping these dogs. For those owners with anti-social dogs – our Boarding with Basic Behavior Modification (Board & Socialization Training) services are also available.

Space is very limited so call 401-996-4854 now for availability.
